Reston, VA | 19,000 sf
rand* construction provided $3.8 million in building renovations at the Reston Executive Center to include three lobby renovations, elevator modernizations, the construction of a new fitness center, and the build-out of all new core restroom facilities. The 19,000 sf scope of work was completed in an occupied environment and during normal business hours due to building restrictions imposed on the GC and subcontractors. The rand* project team phased the work to minimize disturbances which was a challenge given the fully occupied nature of the building combined with the scope of work on each floor.
In addition to the scheduling and phasing of this project, the team also faced many challenges working with the specified finishes. For instance, the design utilized Fry Regley Integral glass wall panels in conjunction with millwork veneer panels and new elevator exterior finishes. To ensure clean, consistent lines, the finishes had to be applied in with intense layout and coordination practices. The finished common areas feature seamless, modern design and flawless installation, repositioning the Reston Executive Center for the occupying tenants.
