Client: CQ Roll CallArchitect: FOX Architects

Washington, DC | 64,000 sf

As the leading provider of congressional news, legislative tracking and advocacy services, CQ | Roll Call is the only media company that connects policy professionals and opinion leaders with the information and tools they need to understand and influence Congress. CQ | Roll Call’s roots in the District have a unique history, and they sought to enrich this presence by creating a space that reflected their own growth and character.

The new 64,000 sf headquarters project was a phased, multi-floor project at 77 K Street NE. Significant aspects of the project include a new conference center, training rooms, a main data center, and a special supplemental cooling system for the heavily populated Newsroom area. The 7th, 8th and partial 9th floor build-out was designed by FOX Architects to embody the rich tradition of the political stage fused with the progressive nature of the company. This project received LEED Gold certification for sustainable features used throughout the construction and the eventual life-cycle of the space.

rand* delivered the space one week early to support the client’s revised move-in schedule based on Congress’ spring break.
