rand* construction completed occupied renovations to an existing office tenant space on the partial 5th level for Booz Allen Hamilton at Crystal City. This was one renovation delivered as part of a DC Metro Area construction program contract through CBRE, rand* and the client in the centrally located Vornado building. Strategically located across from the Virginia Railway Express (VRE), the Crystal City Water Park, and several biking and jogging trails, this space is also connected to the Crystal City Metro station as well as an amenity-rich ecosystem featuring restaurants, services, shopping, and fitness centers. The client sought to revitalize its offices to maintain the cutting edge work environment prevailing among other technology companies in the mixed-use neighborhood.

The scope of work included the demolition of existing office partitions that once divided the space into compartments to create an open layout. The team rebuilt partitions to include collaborative workspace, individual workstations, private offices, and various conference rooms. A high-energy, employee-friendly reception area, lobby and lounge area in the center of the space features a bright color scheme, custom millwork and unique lighting fixtures throughout. The space also features exposed ceilings, a metal baffle ceiling system, and a suspended Buzzigrid ceiling system, matching the playful yet sophisticated motif of the colorful furniture.
