The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) encompasses 330,000 square feet of the phase III Patriots Plaza building. Located in the heart of Southwest DC, this Class-A building offers a range of features that exceed government-critical security standards.

A monumental challenge for rand* was to maintain a strict construction schedule, implement $22 million of work on multiple floors, and deliver in the alloted 20 weeks.

The construction schedule was further broken down into four sub phases (three floors per phase) to accommodate the aggressive fast-track nature of the 12-floor construction build-out. Work was performed on multiple floors at one time to maintain the project milestones.

The project included 225,000 square feet of raised flooring and a LAN room with 40 tons of air conditioning and UPS. Additionally, a ground floor auditorium was constructed with a 28’ wood ceiling and wall paneling, new terrazzo flooring in the elevator lobbies, and new glass store fronts and folding partitions.  Four additional fully equipped conference rooms with advanced AV capabilities and a new fitness center with Men’s and Women’s locker rooms were also built within the aggressive schedule.
