rand* construction built out the second location of the Great Republic, a vintage American memorabilia retail shop, in the CityCenterDC development over a compressed 8-week schedule alongside several other tenant fit-outs in the same building. Previous and recent experience delivering similar projects with Hines enabled the team to build upon a strong relationship and establish an effective system of communication, which aided in coordination issues throughout the project schedule.

The Great Republic prides itself on the authenticity of both antique and handmade-in-America goods, making the aesthetic and ambiance of their new location a critical element of the build-out. The design incorporated a custom light-fixture package which required exceptional coordination between the client and design team with the field and project management team. The owner also provided a custom millwork package, which was incorporated into rand*’s construction schedule and installed by the build team on site. The end product perfectly captures the spirit of the Great Republic and elevates their brand to a new level.
