Level Up. Build Strong.
Each year, Women in Construction Week is an opportunity to celebrate the women who shape the construction industry through leadership, expertise, and collaboration.
At rand*, women make up 26% of our colleagues nationwide, which is more than double the industry average and an increase from 24% this time last year. As the largest woman-founded, women-owned commercial general contractor in the nation, we are proud of this continued progress.
This year’s national theme, “Level Up. Build Strong.”, reflects both the personal and collective impact women are making across the built environment. Level Up speaks to growth, leadership, and mentorship, while Build Strong highlights the relationships and partnerships that move our industry forward.
Throughout the week, teams across rand* came together to celebrate the women who strengthen our company and our industry every day.
Kicking Off the Week
We began Women in Construction Week with a video message from our Founder and Executive Chairman Linda Rabbitt, recognizing the women across our industry who continue to raise the bar.
The video also featured members of the rand* team sharing one word that defines what it means to “Build Strong.” From words like resilient, collaborative, determined, and supportive, the message reflected the many ways women bring strength to the construction industry.
“Women in construction continue to raise the bar across our industry. Their leadership, resilience, and collaboration make our teams stronger and our projects better.”
— Linda Rabbitt, Founder & Executive Chairman
Throughout the week, we also spotlighted several members of the rand* team who exemplify leadership and impact across our offices, including Lindsay Parker, Anne Goodson, Roshni Patnaik, and Bert Saggerson. Each story highlighted the different paths women take in the construction industry and the leadership they bring to their teams and projects every day.
Level Up: Industry Leadership with Hilton, JLL, and OTJ Architects
One of the most impactful moments of the week took place in Washington, DC, where our team partnered with Hilton, JLL, and OTJ Architects to host a Women in Construction Week leadership event.
The event brought together professionals from across the commercial real estate and construction industries for an afternoon focused on leadership, career growth, and mentorship — all key themes aligned with this year’s “Level Up. Build Strong.” message.

The panel discussion was moderated by Linda, who guided a thoughtful conversation exploring how women are navigating leadership in an evolving industry and the lessons that have shaped their careers along the way.
Throughout the discussion, panelists reflected on the pivotal moments that helped them grow professionally, the mentors who helped open doors, and the leadership qualities that continue to drive success across their organizations.
Another major theme of the conversation was the power of cross-industry collaboration. With leaders representing ownership, project management, architecture, and construction, the panel highlighted how strong partnerships across disciplines ultimately lead to stronger outcomes for projects and clients.
Linda also encouraged panelists to share advice for the next generation of women entering the industry — from staying curious and adaptable to building strong professional networks and supporting others along the way.

The discussion served as a reminder that leveling up in our industry often happens through relationships, mentorship, and the willingness to lift others as we grow.
Events like this create space for meaningful dialogue while reinforcing the importance of continuing to support and elevate women across the construction and commercial real estate industries.
Building Strong in Our Communities
Women in Construction Week also gave us the opportunity to support women in the broader community.
Members of our DC team attended the Women Giving Back Luncheon, supporting an organization whose work helps empower women during challenging times and reflects the spirit of community that Women in Construction Week celebrates.

Celebrating Across rand* Offices
Teams across the country also found meaningful ways to celebrate the week and recognize the women who strengthen our company every day. From internal lunches to team building events, our teams celebrated the women in their offices and their contributions.
Our Atlanta team hosted a cookie decorating class alongside industry partners from Cushman & Wakefield, JLL, Interior Architects, and Jean Allen. The class was led by Ali Jackson of Croft Engineers, who also owns Making Dough Cookie Co., highlighting the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit women bring to the industry.
