Clifford Chance expanded their litigation office to add a 10,000 SF collaboration space. Ironically, collaboration was critical through the delivery of the project. Due to the eighteen-week project schedule, major trades were required to work in a concerted effort. The surrounding office spaces were fully operational during construction, including the interconnecting stair.

The use of custom materials in the undulating millwork and unique light array ceiling act as a spine creating a backbone for the office environment. The Newmat vendor, millwork, and lighting subcontractors developed fabrication methods in concert to ensure the unique geometries of each panel matched perfectly. Base building infrastructure, including fire suppression and mechanical systems had to be re-engineered to create a monolithic appearance of the feature ceiling with perforations for infrastructure accessibility or supply. The ceiling moves within the space and adjoins right against and operable partition to create a visually unbroken run through separate rooms.

The in-place renovation required selective demolition for the new build-out featuring conference rooms, a lounge, breakout spaces, pantry, new office fronts, and transformation of perimeter conference rooms to new office suites.
