rand*’s national relationship with this premier government contractor set the standards for this interior build-out on the 14th level of an Atlanta commercial building. The goal was to modernize the entire space by demolishing the existing partitions, upgrade the MEP, telecommunications, fire safety and AV systems, and update the existing finishes to create a functional work environment. Upon award, investigative site surveys were performed to ensure compatibility of the design within the existing space as well as discovering the unknowns to abate obstacles prior to the start of construction.

The scope of work included all new reception space, conference and multi-purpose centers, open workstations, and a new partition layout to reorganize the flow of the office. By decreasing the footprint of individual office space and inoperable partitions, the team was able to increase flexible, multi-functional, and employee-centered collaborative space conducive to the work environment of the client. In order to overcome the challenges of a tight schedule and an occupied building, rand worked during preconstruction to establish a critical chain of command and outline of responsibilities to prepare for the cross-section of responsibility that would come with this work.
