Electrify America

Electrify America, the subsidiary of Volkswagen Group of America that operates a network of fast-charging DC stations throughout the country, had a need to expand their tenant space.  The highly custom new space is primarily made up of closed and open workspaces, multiple conference and collaboration space types, break rooms/pantries, IT/LAN Rooms, and a network operations center (NOC).  The project required a complete demolition of an existing tenant space to create an add-on space that features brightly colored finishes, a fabric ceiling integrated with custom light fixtures, an adaptable millwork package that serves multiple functions, a Transwall glass system that creates a bubble feel for each office and rooms within the space, a flexible system furniture package, and a custom wallcovering application.  The pantry is enveloped by a feature wall brandishing a neon light fixture that compliments the vibrant workspace.  The project required extensive coordination with the owner’s vendors due to the security, A/V, and Data requirements.  These vendors had to be incorporated in the compressed preconstruction period to clearly define turnover requirements and milestone dates to be integrated into the project’s schedule.  A collaborative effort by all key stakeholders led way to a highly successful project.
