Flower Child

Fox Restaurant Concepts contracted rand* to deliver a complete demolition and buildback for a franchise location for Flower Child including the installation of a new storefront. The design called for an open concept with a contemporary design highlighted by the exposed ceiling, sealed concrete flooring, and custom art pieces throughout the project. The constrained space and aggressive schedule of sixteen weeks required considerable coordination with vendors, subcontractors, and manufacturers to perform the build-out with a just-in-time delivery approach for materials and equipment due to the lack of staging area.

The project houses a number of custom elements and extensive owner/vendor package with regard to the commercial kitchen making coordination between subcontractors and vendors paramount during layout. A dedicated preconstruction meeting was performed with participation of the architect and subcontractors to develop workscopes and determine roles and responsibilities for critical program to ensure proper turnover to respective subcontractors and vendors to seamlessly tie-in custom finishes and ensure the equipment could be integrated with no field restrictions. The development on this efficiency in preconstruction was vital due to backlog for permitting and late availability for electrical service compressing the schedule. Constant communication and maintaining an adaptable schedule throughout construction was critical for project delivery and quality control of the elegant space.
