JP Morgan Chase

rand* was contracted to deliver a showcase branch space for JP Morgan Chase in the heart of Georgetown. The contemporary design fosters a unique environment for a banking retail space with custom materials throughout. The delivery date was a hard deadline creating an aggressive twenty-week schedule requiring extensive coordination especially considering the design team being located out-of-town. This challenge was intensified due to the complex scope of work and adaptive reuse design elements.

The fit-out spanned a four-story Georgetown row space incorporating the existing brick walls, tin ceiling, and exposed rafters into the construction where possible to let space retain the character of its location and the building itself. This required extensive site surveys and joint constructability and design reviews to ensure compatibility of the design within the existing conditions. These dedicated preconstruction meetings allowed for collaborative design development expediting the construction phase of the project. The space is highlighted by the 20’ custom chandelier hanging from the second floor ceiling down through the mezzanine and stairwell the main level. New wood accents, multiple format tile installations, and glass walls throughout seamlessly blend modern flourishes with the historical surroundings. This location serves as JP Morgan Chase Bank’s flagship branch location in DC.
