Stantec Design Studio – Arlington

Stantec is an international architecture and interior design who had a need to construct a satellite office in the Arlington market. rand* was contracted to provide preconstruction and construction services for this project with an aggressive thirteen-week schedule. The project contains a significant amount of custom finishes and materials as it acts as a showcase space to exhibit their design services. The project is a complete tenant fit-out of a shell space that garnered an Award of Excellence in the DC Metro market.

The project consisted of open office space, breakout areas, private offices, and a pantry. The design was highlighted by wood flooring, custom millwork, polished concrete flooring, exposed ceilings, track lighting, custom glass office fronts, and a new Ketra lighting system which was the first of its kind installed in the DC Metro area. rand utilized a dedicated preconstruction team to determine and release critical materials prior to the start of construction to control the project end-date. The project obtained LEED Gold Certification v4.0. rand*’s sustainability team worked in concert with Stantec to develop the scorecard and guarantee points by being a Proven Provider with the USGBC. The success of the project was secured through open and constant communication with the design team, building engineer, and building owner.
