Weil, Gotshal, & Manges

Weil is an international law firm that contracted rand* to build-out their new offices on two total floors; floors 6 & 7. The project was a high-end design that included new offices, conference rooms, restrooms, open office space, breakout spaces, and two communicating stairs. The project featured significant custom finishes throughout the project utilizing extensive millwork, glass, and ornamental metals package. Coordinated layout and shop drawings were paramount to the project’s success due to the integrated workscopes of custom materials. This is most prominent at the stair which required coordination between the glass, structural steel, electrical, mechanical, ornamental metals, fire suppression, stone, and specialty systems subcontractors.

The stairs are showcase elements made from an ornamental steel structure, glass, and mirror polished stainless-steel railings with floating wood and bronze treads that were designed, fabricated, and integrated seamlessly. The project’s design called for eight custom metal finishes using an oil-rubbed bronze to highlight the space integrating into the reclaimed wood finish. The breakout space has custom Lily Pad tables with stainless steel posts & bronze connecting support straps with Calacatta tops that were custom designed and built for the project. The level of detail in this project creates a sophisticated space that is a flagship interior’s project in the district.
