Common Desk

Located in 650 Main, a Class A office building designed for the modern workplace, Common Desk, a WeWork Company, offers a beautiful multilevel workspace community in the heart of Downtown Salt Lake City.

Common Desk specializes in creating thoughtful workspace environments which are high quality, efficient, and artfully designed. The buildout included the construction of a wood wrapped steel staircase, 80 offices with glass alcoves, breakrooms equipped with espresso machines for specialty coffee, and large steel planters found throughout the space. The design leans into the needs of the modern-day worker offering private phone booths, podcast rooms and zoom rooms with soundproofing, and large conference rooms perfect for collaborate work. This project encompasses Salt Lake City culture and the outdoors. Each conference room is named after a mountain peak found in the Salt Lake City area, and the finishes reflect tones of Utah’s wilderness such as deep forest green painted offices and “Bryce Canyon” red tile backsplashes. The finishing touches include local artwork, modern furniture, and live plants, making for a comfortable and inviting workspace.

rand* worked closely with Common Desk, HOK Architects and Patrinely to ensure the project vision became reality. The completion of Common Desk could not have been a success without excellent on and off-site team communication and collaboration.
