The new headquarters space on the 13th floor of the Square 2 building comprises 24,204 square feet of high-end design that had to be delivered in fourteen weeks. The principal challenge to the project was the utilization and integration of a multitude of custom elements especially considering the limited three-week preconstruction period for release and procurement. This is readily apparent upon entering the space and experiencing the Hall of History, showcase pieces, commissioned art installations, and custom graphics enveloping the reception area.
The contemporary and themed design through wallcoverings, carpets, furnishings and multi-media were selected to reflect the history and operations of MoD through referencing historical details. The pride of the March of Dimes mission is clearly defined through the extensive branding spanning throughout the workspace utilized through the chic and interactive work environment including graphics displays, information hubs, and interactive A/V walls allowing children to play games and adults to learn more about March of Dimes. The design called for a program that provides a wide variety of open and enclosed workspaces to support the varied work styles and needs for both individual and highly collaborative work. This approach to heart of the design language was to create an elegant yet urban ambiance featuring custom millwork, fabric panels, polished concrete floors, exposed ceilings, and cloud ceiling systems over the open offices.
