Iron Rings

rand* completed the transformation of the second floor of a 100-year-old historic building in downtown Alpharetta, creating a high-end, functional office suite for Iron Rings Holdings. The project required a total interior demolition and rebuild, balancing the client’s vision of a Class A workspace with a respect for the building’s historic character.

The 2,000-square-foot buildout included extensive structural reinforcements, including wall and floor strengthening, and introduced high-end finishes throughout the space. Design highlights featured wall-to-wall wood paneling, custom steel and glazing sliding doors, built-in shelving with metal mesh and lighting, and a suspended railroad beam with integrated pendant lighting in the conference room. The existing stairwell was revitalized with new treads, risers, custom paneling, and a decorative handrail. Thoughtful details like wall niches showcasing original brick and parquet-patterned LVT flooring seamlessly blended modern elegance with historic charm.

The construction team faced unique challenges due to the building’s constraints, including a narrow stairwell that required all materials, including custom elements, to be carried and assembled onsite. The team’s problem-solving skills, strong communication, and collaboration with expert subcontractors ensured that the design intent was achieved despite these obstacles.

Although delayed by two weeks due to millwork installation, the project was completed by the end of summer, meeting the client’s overarching schedule goals. The result is a distinctive space that showcases the client’s whiskey collection while maintaining functionality and aesthetic excellence.

This design-build project is a testament to rand*’s ability to blend modern construction techniques with historic preservation, delivering tailored solutions that exceed client expectations.
