Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises contracted rand* to bring their Chicago-based Mediterranean restaurant to Music Lane, a unique cultural destination located along Austin’s iconic South Congress Avenue. The 3,832 SF high-end restaurant build-out features an indoor dining room, as well as a multiple-level patio and terrace.
The dining room features a warm and earthy color palette, locally fabricated custom millwork, White Oaks Tambour Panels with climbing ivy and foliage, custom marble stone tops, an indoor trellis, and a curated collection of decorative lighting with influence from the Middle East, Mediterranean and Eastern European cultures. The multi-level outdoor patio and terrace lives under the canopy of a 100+ year old native Heritage Oak tree, studded with glass and metal lanterns from Morocco and the Middle East. The patio features a semi-private raised deck, with a vibrant living plant wall and an outdoor bar with a white venetian plaster.
rand* was contracted early to provide preconstruction and construction services for Aba. Our dedicated preconstruction team was utilized to work in concert with the engineering and design team to ensure the project remained within the client’s budget through value engineering exercises, constructability insight, and material selection. The rand* team was well-versed with restaurant build-outs and were proactive during design discussions.
rand* overcame a multitude of design changes and managed $600k of change orders seamlessly with the client. The team upgraded the entire Music Lane development power system to allow for the required design intent of the restaurant. The team faced delays when the project was put on hold for three weeks during the COVID-19 pandemic. The rand* team was able to adapt to the delay and deliver a space that all parties were proud of.
