The powerhouse global athletic brand, Gymshark, partnered with rand*, Cresa, and Abel Design Group as their local partners to execute the buildout for their first US corporate office. However, due to global travel restrictions, the Gymshark team based in the UK was unable to visit the Denver jobsite throughout the duration of the project. These extenuating circumstances allowed rand* and the local team to adjust to the Gymshark job changing from a local buildout to a transatlantic construction project.
Beyond the challenges presented by the circumstances of the world at the time, there were substantial challenges particular to this project, including but not limited to, the construction administration process. All samples and submittals had to be directed to the UK architect overseas, whose CA process varies greatly from the US norm. Through diligent documentation, bi-weekly sample shipments, and daily zoom calls, the local rand* team was able to successfully translate the Gymshark’s design intent into American construction. Additionally, the team cohesively worked to overcome and adjust to global backorders and product delays in order to meet the required timelines.
The space features a bold design which boasts Gymshark’s unique branding of strictly black and white features throughout. Other exemplary architectural aspects include a Microcrete hand poured boardroom table, Barrisol fabric stretch ceilings, and a lobby featuring Armourcoat walls and TruPC flooring.
All parties involved were essential to the success of the Gymshark buildout.
