Rapid 7

The Boston-based technology firm Rapid 7 had a need to expand their current presence in Austin and did so in a relocation strategy to Frost Tower and making their new footprint the entirety of the 19th floor. Rapid 7 helps growth in companies through strategic and innovative integrations of security infrastructure built within their core framework. This critical approach to the way they function within the market allowed for an easy development of a collaborative approach throughout the preconstruction phase by all key stakeholders actively wanting to participate.  rand* was onboarded to the project prior to the start of design to help facilitate the design development process through constructability reviews, budget exercises, value engineering, and pre-release package development.

The project design was predominately open office workspace supplemented by a large multi‐function break and all hands gathering space, collaboration zones, private focus/huddle rooms, a small server room, work cafe, a high-end elevator lobby, and custom reception area. The preconstruction period was vital due to the sophisticated design and integration of an extensive owner/vendor package. The vendors were brought in early on the project to clearly define roles, responsibilities, and turnover conditions required to deliver the scope. This is most prevalent in the elevator lobby where the high-end custom materials integrate seamlessly with custom graphics and unique lighting.
