The Reed Smith office was designed and constructed to communicate the law firm’s expertise and dedication to the highest standards of excellence. Reed Smith is a national client for rand* as we have completed over a dozen projects in three states for the law firm dating back to 1995. The contemporary design establishes the first office for the 140-year-old law firm in Austin, Texas. Gensler was tasked to design the suite on the 18th floor of Frost Tower; one of Austin’s most iconic buildings.

The project had to be completed in an aggressive fourteen-week delivery window, making material selection, procurement strategies, and subcontractor qualifications vital for meeting the hard occupancy date while maintaining best-in-class quality.

All of the offices and conference rooms were built with glass fronts to let natural light move throughout the space. Skyfold operable partitions were installed between conference rooms for availability to hold larger meetings. These and many other finishes created a challenge to meet the fourteen-week schedule, but with early involvement during design and excellent coordination, the team was able to deliver the project on time.
